Computer Recycling & The Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment Directive

All businesses are required to dispose of their computers and other electronic materials securely.  The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directives (WEE Directives) entered into force in 2004.

PC’s contain lots of noxious materials.  Lead, bromine and lithium can be found in PC’s, monitors and laptops.  The purpose of the Directives is to minimise the environmental impact of electronic waste.

DMG Services has recently expanded our service to provide a total environmental management service for the disposal of obsolete computer, telecommunications and other electronic office equipment.  Our Recycling program is based on the WEEE directive, promoting the reuse and recycling of electronic waste.

We can cater for the disposal of electronic office equipment, including:

-    Hard drives
-    Computer Screens
-    Keyboard & mouse
-    Printers
-    Fax machines
-    Telephones
-    Photocopiers

It is estimated that electronic waste is three times that of the average municipal waste stream overall. Over 90 percent of this waste goes to disposal facilities — incinerators and landfills — instead of being reused or recycled!

For more information on our new computer recycling service, please e-mail info@dmg-services.ie or call us on 01 438 0200.
